Partnership in Action: CN
Level Justice recently delivered a tailored virtual Cultural Humility and Empathy Training (CHET) session in February 2026 for Canadian National Railway (CN), with 127 team members attending from across Canada. Opened by Traditional Anishinaabe Grandmother Kim Wheatley, the session explored the history of Indigenous Peoples, current lived realities, empathy in interactions, self-reflection, and action items participants can carry forward.
“Participating in the CHET LEVEL training was a powerful and grounding experience. It strengthened my practice of cultural humility and intentionally deepened my empathy by encouraging reflection, curiosity, and perspective taking. I left with practical tools I can immediately apply-both professionally and personally-to engage more thoughtfully.”
— Chloe Johnston
“I'm deeply grateful for this course's teachings, which refreshed and recalibrated my previous assumptions of how "I show up", and are received by Indigenous Communities. This course has renewed my commitment to do better and lead with openness and empathy.” — Aaron Stadnyk
CN has supported Level since 2016. Readers can hear more about that relationship in CN’s Level 20th Anniversary Video. Level also acknowledges the involvement of CN team members Mélanie Allaire, Olivier Chouc, Vanessa James, Suzanne Dalzell, Jessica Syms, Anisa Malek, and the CN Indigenous ERG, who have been directly involved in supporting the Indigenous Youth Outreach Program at Level.
