We’re Hiring: Part Time Black Youth Justice Program Manager

Level is looking for a motivated, energetic and hard-working individual to join our small, dynamic team for a contract position to develop and co-lead Level's Black Youth Justice Program (BYJP). This includes working in tandem with Level’s Senior Program Manager to develop, refine, and manage our Black Youth Justice Program.

Position:                                              Part-time Program Manager

Location:                                             Remote in Canada

Contract amount:                           $50/hour with a commitment of up to 10 hours/week

Reporting to:                                      Senior Program Manager

Anticipated Start Date:                Immediate

As a national justice education and human rights charity, Level provides innovative, targeted programs for youth, law students, and legal professionals. Our work is deeply rooted in the community and aims to inspire positive change towards equity and justice in people’s lives, communities, and legal systems.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Research and Drafting:

  • Conduct research to identify gaps in programming available for Black youth in Canada and research ways to address such gaps

  • Draft materials and curricula as required throughout the duration of the program

  • Assist in developing Black Youth Justice Program resources

  • Identify and implement strategies to implement the program across Canada

Program Development:

  • Engage in outreach initiatives to form partnerships with like-minded organizations, education sector professionals, youth centres, and Black youth

  • Help to recruit and manage Program Facilitators and volunteers to run the program effectively

  • Develop training and policy materials to maintain integrity of the program and meet community needs

  • Help to run the advisory board for the Black Youth Justice Program

Program Coordination

  • Conduct communication, scheduling, and organizing during delivery of individual sessions

  • Aid in the management of human resources across the country

  • Assist in organizing logistical support for deliveries

  • Help with identifying potential locations to expand the program across the country

Preferred Qualifications

·       Completed or ongoing education in law or law-related fields

·       Experience working within the non-profit sector

·       Experience with justice education or public legal education

·       Knowledge and experience in issues impacting the Black community

·       Strong research and writing skills

·       Exceptional organizational and personal skills

·       Collaborative and friendly attitude

·       Interest in social justice
